Prof. George Vellidis  is a faculty of the University of Georgia, USA,Department of Crop and Soil Sciences. He is a leading experts in precision agriculture, an innovative approach that uses the most modern technologies (GPS, satellites, drones, sensors and robot) to maximize the efficiency of agricultural production systems. As demonstrated by his numerous publications on the subject, he has conducted pioneering studies on precision irrigation and developing various original devices and instruments for scheduling site-specification irrigation. Prof. Vellidis leads the TransAtlantic Precision Agriculture Consortium (TAPAC),  a group of agricultural scientists and engineers at three US Universities and three EU universities, including the University of Padova, dedicated to fostering the global awareness and competence of their students, faculty and staff. He is also one of the developers of the dual Master's degree in Sustainable Agriculture between the University of Georgia and the University of Padova.
